So my friend asked me to try the viral banana bark recipe because she thinks it may be better than date bark... With a statement like that, I of course had to test it out!
Frozen Bananas
Now, I love my frozen bananas. I make nice cream like once a week at least and so the idea of banana bark definitely intrigued me. What was different about this is that my friend said she liked this banana bark MORE than date bark. And that is where my curiosity was peaked!
Layering
First, start by layering your bananas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Then, spread a layer of your favorite nut butter on top. For me, I wanted a crunch so I added crunchy almond butter.
I wanted to add my own flair to the recipe, and extra crunch, so I then added pretzels. I love the combo of pretzels and chocolate because it adds even more of a salty bite!
The Addition of Pretzels
I thought the pretzels made this banana bark something unique and that I would eat on REPEAT! The one thing to note is that the pretzels did not keep as well after 1.5-2 weeks in the freezer.
So, when storing this banana bark, make sure to consume within 2 weeks otherwise the pretzels may be a little softer and not have the same crunch to them.
When you're pulling a piece out of the freezer, let it sit for a few minutes before biting in. Otherwise, it may be too tough.
Try out this recipe and let me know what you think! And let me know if you think this banana bark is better than date bark!!
