This watermelon sorbet is such an easy and delicious dessert that will cool you down in the summer heat! It only has 2 ingredients: watermelon, and fresh lime juice. It's the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.
Let's Talk About Watermelon
Watermelon is kind of a tricky fruit to pick and ensure it's ripe and tasty. You're also buying a huge melon, so it's important that it tastes sweet and is fresh and crisp. Here are a few tips for choosing the right watermelon that I've found to be helpful:
Look for a watermelon that is firm, symmetrical, and heavy for its size, with a creamy yellow spot on the bottom indicating ripeness.
Watermelon also pack a punch when it comes to nutrients. They contain vitamin C, potassium, and vitamins A and B6. Since they're mostly made of water (hence the name!) they're also great for keeping you hydrated.
What to do if you don't have a Ninja Creami
If you don't have a Ninja Creami, fear not! This recipe can be made in a blender and then frozen overnight. It may not have the exact same texture, but it will be delicious.
All you need to do is blend your ingredients together, as you would if you had a Ninja Creami. Then put them in a freezer safe container with a lid. Let it freeze overnight, then take your container out of the freezer and wait 15-30 minutes for it to soften then scoop directly from the container. Top with sea salt flakes and enjoy!
