Embarking on a journey to create the perfect breakfast to satisfy my sweet tooth led me to combine two of the most beloved flavors in the culinary world: peanut butter and jam. This Vegan Gluten-Free Peanut Butter and Jam Baked Oats recipe is a celebration of that classic combination. Except, instead of it being in sandwich form (delicious), this recipe transforms it into a warm, comforting breakfast. It's both nourishing and indulgently satisfying. Designed as a single serve in a cute ramekin, it's incredibly easy to double the recipe! That way you can use a full banana and have leftovers for the next day!
Peanut Butter & Jelly
Peanut butter and jelly (or jam) hold a special place in our hearts, often reminding us of childhood lunches but with a twist. In this recipe, the duo brings their timeless charm to breakfast, with dollops of strawberry jam and peanut butter creating an irresistible ooze texture that's both surprising and deeply satisfying in each bite. The combination of creamy peanut butter with the sweet, fruity burst of jam nestled within the baked oats is a match made in heaven, providing a comforting start to the day that's hard to beat.
Oats: A Complex Carbohydrate
Starting your day with oats is a fantastic choice. As a complex carbohydrate, oats release energy slowly, keeping you energized and full throughout the morning. They're also a great source of fiber, aiding in digestion and contributing to heart health. This recipe not only offers the nutritional benefits of oats but also incorporates the protein-packed peanut butter and the fruit-sweetened jam, making it a balanced, healthful meal.
